In the "Safe Switching and Monitoring" section, you will find an extraordinary large programme of safety-related switchgears for the position monitoring of guard doors and the non-contact protection of hazardous zones and danger points, as well as safety switching appliances for special applications.
In the "Safe Signal Processing" section, you will find safety relay modules for various safety technology applications (e.g. for emergency stop and guard door monitoring) as well as centralised programmable safety controllers and decentralised field bus systems, e.g. a modular concept for safety functions control on small machines.
In the "Automation Technology" section, you will find switching appliances for the mechanical position detection in various fields of application as well as (safety) sensors with different operating principles; this section furthermore includes a comprehensive programme of command and signalling devices.
The "Ex Switchgear" includes switchgears, which can be used - in accordance with the harmonised standards - in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres due to the presence of gas and dust, e.g. position switches, safety switches and safety sensors with non-contact operating principle.

Machinery safety and explosion protection are two fields placing extremely high requirements on industrial switchgear. The new position switches of the EX-T 335 series meet these requirements and therefore are suitable for the position monitoring of safety guards in explosive atmospheres.
The basis series Z/T 335 is a state-of the art position switch in many fields of mechanical engineering, where it is used for safety-related applications and also for conventional position tasks when an extremely long lifetime is required. The series now has been made compliant with the requirements of explosion protection, as a result of which it is certified to the ATEX Directive for applications in the gas Ex Zones 1 and 2 as well as the dust Ex Zones 21 and 22 (equipment category 2 GD). These components also feature an extraordinary long life and high load-bearing capacity: their mechanical lifetime is approximately more than one million of operations.
The position switches of the EX-T 335 series have extremely compact mounting sizes to EN 50041. The metal enclosure also withstands high mechanical stresses. The switches are offered with the conventional contact variants 1 NO / 1 NC and 2 NC as well as with overlapping and staggered contacts.
As the actuators are regarded, the user has a large freedom of choice; the options include, amongst other things, plungers, roller plungers, roller and rod levers as well as angle roller levers. As all actuators can be mounted in 90o steps, i.e. in four actuating directions, the EX-T 335 is an excellent universally applicable complement to the continuously growing Schmersal programme of switchgear for explosive atmospheres.
