The latest safety sensor technology as an alternative to electromechanics. The AZ 16 is to many companies the safety switch par excellence: the Schmersal Group already has produced many millions of this series and the switch is still highly popular. Schmersal now presents a new safety sensor, which will help many users make the switch from electromechanical to non-contact guard door monitoring. Although the CSS 16 has the latest sensor technology inside, its basic measurements are exactly the same as those of the AZ 16 – with this particular difference that in the CSS devices the mechanical actuator is replaced by a compact target. more

 
Flexible, compact, ergonomic: control panels for the safety guard

Standard in higher design quality instead of “do-it-yourself”. Every safety guard of a machine or plant is, besides a safety switching system, equipped with a control panel, by means of which the operator can at least activate the emergency stop, on/off and reset functions. Usually, these control panels are manufactured by the machine builder according to the “do-it-yourself” principle. Especially for small quantities or in companies with their own auxiliary equipment production department, which only manufacture small series, this is a highly uneconomical operation, which does not always produce the desired result from the technical or aesthetical point of view. more

Non-contact magnetic interlock MZM 100 with adjustable latching force

The MZM 100 is a solenoid interlock with non-contact operating principle, in which the locking force of 500 N is electromagnetically generated. The absence of a mechanical locking offers for instance the advantage that the magnetic interlock can be smoothly integrated in the surrounding construction and that no annoying rattling is produced on vibrating machines. For the non safety-related latching, which is required to keep the door closed, this electromagnet is used as well. more

 
Safety sensor CSP 34 with paired coding

Innovations of the optoelectronic switchgear programme

The Schmersal Group extends its programme of optoelectronic safety guards through the acquisition of Safety Control GmbH and Safety Protec GmbH, located at Mühldorf/ Inn.
