For universal applications: new safety-monitoring modules
More functions for a more attractive price: the advantages of standardisation

Until now, the SRB 211 series featured different safety-monitoring modules for the evaluation of the signals of conventional safety switchgear, magnetic safety switches and optoelectronic safety guards, the so-called AODP´s. The new SRB 211 series enables wiring all three types of safety switchgear to the same safety-monitoring module.

In this way, the number of variants to be manufactured by the Schmersal production department is reduced. But in the end, it is the user, who gets the advantages: due to the standardisation, Elan – the Centre of Competence of the Schmersal Group for safety-monitoring modules and safety-related control systems – can manufacture the new SRB 211 safety-monitoring modules at a more favourable price. This advantage is passed on to the customer.

Standardisation however does not imply that the user has no choice. The safety-monitoring modules are supplied in the variants ST (dual-channel control with two NC contacts), AN (antivalent; for NC/NO contact combinations) and LT (two NC contacts; with long-time time setting) with three wiring possibilities: plug-in or soldered screw terminals and plug-in cage clamps. The setting of the drop-out delay time for the STOP 1 enabling signals is also simplified for the user: this task can now be realized within a few seconds by means of a DIP switch.

The safety functions of the new SRB 211 safety-monitoring modules with com-pact 22.5 mm enclosure for control cabinet mounting include a current and voltage limitation of the input circuits as well as a reset with trailing edge.
