Innovative development close to the customer

Going new ways in design and development is nothing unusual for Elan; we have demonstrated this very frequently in over fifty years of company history. And the success of many innovative products such as the ESALAN System or, currently, the safety-oriented radio link ESALAN Wireless, confirms this tradition. Elan also works closely with partner companies and customers. Several renown robot manufacturers therefore use ESALAN Safety Controller system solutions which have been individually adapted to the specific requirements, namely to secure robot work stations by monitoring real robot movements at work.

With modern development tools, quick and safe to the finished product

Our developers employ modern computer-assisted design tools. In the development phase they work closely with the production departments in order to create the conditions for economical production according to the highest quality standards and ensure smooth series start-up. The co-operation with the certification offices such as the BGIA (Institut für Arbeitsschutz der Deutschen Gesetztlichen Unfallversicherung) also starts at this early phase. The developers in Wettenberg work closely with the central laboratory of the Schmersal Group, which is certified as an ALPHA Laboratory for the testing of low-voltage devices. Elan is also a founding member of ALPHA e.V.; this initiative, set up in 1990, has the objective of preparing harmonised test reports for EN and IEC product standards. This type of certification guarantees short time-to-market for new developments.
