The Schmersal Group answers this question with the BDF series. These slim control panels in a robust housing allow space-saving and easy to install installation in the standard profile systems for machine housings. The BDF series offers best conditions for ergonomic and safe working, because the machine can be operated with a direct view of the workspace.
The housing can be fitted as needed with different pushbuttons, indicator lights, illuminated pushbuttons, key-operated switches and an emergency stop button. This is new in the program, "Universal BDF 200." With this universal version the machine builder does not have to provide the exact desired configuration. Instead, he creates the required version by himself.
The basic configuration of the Universal-BDF 200 consists of a BDF 200-housing with four control elements and different contact types. As a pre-selection the emergency stop is mostly selected with or without a protective collar. The other three operating elements are push buttons or illuminated push buttons. Functions are assigned to the buttons individually by clipping on the different coloured keycaps.
Alternative versions are available with four push buttons or illuminated push buttons, i.e. without emergency stop buttons. As an option, the versions with emergency stop can be equipped with an additional indicator. Thus, this describes the entire range of selections; the diversity is created by the user locally.
This principle according to the motto "one size fits all" offers the possibility of simplified storage without having to sacrifice the liberties of the individual configuration. Users who place special demands on operating devices, because they want to integrate selectors or key switches, can still order the customized control units of the BDF series from Schmersal.
