Germany scholarship recipients visit Schmersal

Around 40 scholarship holders of the Deutschlandstipendium visited our headquarters in Wuppertal on August 31, 2022. The event, which was initiated by Annika Grübler, Head of the Germany Scholarship Office at the University of Wuppertal, enabled an informative and relaxed exchange between young academics and various representatives of Schmersal.

In his presentation, Philip Schmersal reported on the cyber-attack on Schmersal in May 2020 and the consequences for our cyber security. Edgar Stadler, Head of our Technology Division, spoke about the current scarcity of raw materials and the impact for the future world of work. A tour of an in-house exhibition provided an overview of Schmersal’s product range and latest developments. At the subsequent get-together, employees from  Technical Sales, Product Management, IT and other departments were available to answer questions. On the roof terrace at the headquarter, sunshine, freshly baked waffles and sausages from the grill ensured a successful conclusion to the event.

The Deutschlandstipendium supports high-performing and socially committed students with a total of 300 euros per month (3,600 euros p.a.). Private sponsors – including Schmersal – take on the first half of this, and the German federal government finances the second half.
