Schmersal is the ‘Innovator of the year 2017’

This week saw the Schmersal Group being awarded the ‘Innovator of the year 2017’ in category ‘Technology’. Philip Schmersal, the managing shareholder, accepted the award at a ceremony in a business club in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Speaking before an audience of no less than 150 organisations, guest speaker Thomas Jarzombek, a member of the Bundestag and the speaker of the CDU / CSU party’s ‘Digitale Agenda’ group, said, “Innovation is the key factor in a rapidly changing economy”. For the first time, the business-related publication ‘Die Deutsche Wirtschaft’ (DDW) initiated the competition ‘Innovator of the Year’. The readers and the users of DDW were invited to vote on the twelve winners, who were awarded prizes in categories ‘Technology’ , ‘Products’, ‘Consultation’ as well as ‘Public Funds and Sites’. With about 10,000 votes cast, it made up the largest group of business judges in Germany. Schmersal owes the acknowledgement to its service organisation ‘tec.nicum’, that according to the jury demonstrated “how to cope with changing market conditions with innovative strategies”.
