SPS IPC Drives 2015: Rush of visitors at Schmersal stand

Video shows impressions from the fair

This year, once again, SPS IPC Drives achieved top marks: With about 64,000 visitors and 1,666 exhibitors, the numbers were considerably higher than the previous year. There was a buzz in the trade fair halls – especially at the Schmersal Group stand. For a while, the rush of visitors made the area quite packed as they took the opportunity to find out about Schmersal's innovations and hold intensive talks.  The absolute highlight this year was the new secure bolt solenoid interlock AZM400, which was nominated for, not one, but two engineering awards: the Automation Award and the i-Novo Award 2015. The exhibit for the AZM400 – a safety guard with large display, which demonstrated the principle of operation of the bolt solenoid interlock in a clear way – was surrounded by many interested visitors. Interest was also great in the SRB-E series, the new electronic safety relay modules with semi-conductor outputs, which can replace several dozen existing SRB modules in one go thanks to its multi-functionality. A new feature at the trade fair was the information stand of the services division, currently being established, which presented itself under the brand name tec.nicum in its new corporate design. The topic of Industrie 4.0 – a focal point at this year's SPS – was also embraced actively by Schmersal who held discussions with customers and industry experts regarding further forward-looking trends. All in all, Schmersal can look back on a successful SPS 2015 which has opened up some new, promising opportunities.
