tec.nicum extends cooperation with University of Wuppertal

The experts at tec.nicum have once again been asked by the BUW University in Wuppertal to provide active support for a series of lectures for the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Technology.
Together with regional companies from the Bergisch Land Mechanical Engineering Network, Prof. Peter Gust is putting together a series of lectures on “Special Mechanical Engineering”.

The series of lectures consists of various theoretical and practical lectures and courses. Thanks to the commitment of Prof. Gust, students will gain a direct insight into the activities of the company and will get to know current topics in machine safety and design against the challenging backdrop of special mechanical engineering.

The kick-off event for the series of lectures will take place in the middle of October, when engineering graduate Siegfried Wolf tackles the subject of “Principles of Machine Safety” focussing on “Implementation of the Machinery Directive / CE conformity assessment methods”.

In his lecture, Siegfried Wolf, the head of the Schmersal Group’s tec.nicum academy & tec.nicum consulting, presented references to practical applications and offered the safety technology course students the opportunity to complete work placements at Schmersal or complete project work to accompany their studies.

The series of lectures consists of a total of 13 events in the Winter 2017/18 semester, followed by a series of work placements. The programme ends in January 2018 with a lecture on “Legal aspects of product liability”,  once again organised by tec.nicum.
