Plant Shanghai/China

In 1999, after intensive preparation, a production plant was founded in the promising market China. The continued growth required soon a new building in Qingpu/Shanghai which was completed and commissioned in 2014. On a plot of 16,000 m² Schmersal Industrial Switchgear Shanghai Co. Ltd. (SISS) established a building complex with 9,500 square meters of production space, a 4000 m² warehouse and a five-story administration building with 1,700 square meters of floor space.

The premises were built according to European standards and equipped with the latest eco-efficient technologies; for example, the heating is powered by a geothermal system. About 150 employees assemble and produce position and safety switches as well as lift switchgear for the East Asian market. Since 2008, our own development department qualifies  existing variants for customer specific requirements. In addition, Schmersal is present with many sales offices in the industrial centers of China.
